Roomzie respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and property managers to do the same. This policy explains our intellectual property rights, how to report infringement, and how we respond to valid takedown requests.
3.1 Roomzie's Intellectual Property
All content, code, design, branding, and functionality of the Roomzie Platform is owned by or licensed to Roomzie. This includes but is not limited to:
- The Roomzie name, logo, wordmark, and brand identity
- The compatibility matching algorithm and scoring methodology
- All source code, frontend design, and database architecture
- Written content, graphics, icons, and UI elements created by Roomzie
- The invite code system, property management dashboard, and admin panel
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in Roomzie's intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any Roomzie content without our express written permission.
3.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Platform, including your profile photos, bio, and other personal information. By uploading content, you grant Roomzie a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your content to other users within your property for the purpose of roommate matching.
This licence terminates when you delete the content or close your account.
3.3 Prohibited IP Violations
Users must not upload, share, or use any content on the Platform that:
- Infringes any third-party copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret
- Uses another person's name, likeness, or personal information without their consent
- Contains unauthorised reproductions of copyrighted images, music, or text
- Impersonates any individual, company, or brand
- Uses Roomzie's brand, logo, or name without written permission
3.4 Trademark Notice
"Roomzie" is a trademark of Roomzie. Unauthorised use of the Roomzie name or logo in any commercial context, including in app names, domain names, social handles, or marketing materials, is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
Before using the Roomzie name in any context outside of referencing our service, please contact hello@roomziee.com for written permission.
3.5 DMCA / Copyright Takedown Process
If you believe that content on the Roomzie Platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice. To be valid, your notice must include:
- Your full name and contact information (email, phone or address)
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- The specific URL or location on our Platform where the infringing content appears
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate
- Your electronic or physical signature
3.6 Counter-Notice Process
If your content was removed in response to a takedown notice and you believe the removal was in error, you may submit a counter-notice including:
- Your full name and contact information
- Identification of the content that was removed and its original location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed by mistake
- Your consent to jurisdiction of the federal court in Ohio for any dispute
- Your electronic or physical signature

3.7 Repeat Infringer Policy
Roomzie has a zero-tolerance policy for repeat copyright infringers. Users who receive three or more valid takedown notices will have their accounts permanently terminated without refund.
3.8 AI-Generated Content
Where Roomzie uses AI tools in the development or operation of the Platform, we take reasonable steps to ensure such use does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. Users are prohibited from using AI-generated content on the Platform that reproduces copyrighted works without authorisation.
